Capable of giving
Capable of taking away
Who are you to receive?
Who am I to take?
My consciousness explodes
Embraces – the air, the water, the earth
With each breath I take
Unreal – as if a painting
Feeding the stone heap that sleeps inside my brain
The cold slab – in enduring timelessness
Succumbed to decay, but never destroyed
Conquered time |with perseverance
Eternity Vanquished
Each color, in this void of creation
A stroke on the canvass of (my) sentience
Describes with a force mightier than all spoken word
That which cannot be seen, nor visualized,
That which only the soul can taste
On a journey into infinity
That which only spirits from times immemorial can bequeath
Is there naught that is amiss?
Or such matter as may seem to be?
Expurging my pure essence
Preordained to never understand
The truth that lies beyond
Does it really ever end?
Wandering beyond existence
Seeking out | the paradox
The answers to life’s riddles
Swirling at a frantic pace
Is this a curse, a vile affliction?
Or have I been chosen to be
To see everything, to understand
Falling into | dark desire
Searing the soul
Crushing the spirit
Enslaved and racked with guilt
As if embalmed in vat of acid
To see everything, to understand
To want to drink the silence in serenity!
